On 19 June, Mahsa, Polina, and Temitope from the Tullio De Mauro class took their viva examinations at the Université de Lorraine. Mahsa’s Master’s dissertation, on “Lexicographic description of slurs”, was supervised by Alain Polguère, and Stefan Evert (Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg) acted as her foreign expert. Polina worked on “Learner consultation tools: From dictionary to corpus” under Alex Boulton’s supervision, Annette Klosa-Kückelhaus (IDS Mannheim) acting as her foreign expert. As for Temitope, her topic was “Bilingual lexicography: A critical analysis of two pioneering Yoruba-English dictionaries”, she worked under Anja Smith’s supervision, and her foreign expert was Fernando Gonçalves Ferreira Alves from Universidade do Minho (Braga). All three candidates defended their dissertations brilliantly: congratulations!
